(Portland, OR) – RE/MAX equity group announced on Wednesday, October 1 that it was promoting three people to leadership positions within the company to better position the company for growth. Jeff Davis, the company’s General Counsel, is being promoted to Vice President of Administration while Alan Mehrwein, Lake Oswego branch manager and principal broker, will become Vice President of Brokerage Management. Laurie Thiel, a broker in the Lake Oswego office, will join the company’s leadership team as sales manager of the Lake Oswego office.

As Vice President of Administration, Davis will be responsible for day to day operations including Accounting, Closing, and Information Technologies. Prior to joining RE/MAX equity group in 2010, Davis worked nearly fourteen years as an attorney with Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt where he represented clients in all aspects of real estate transactions including buying, selling, developing, and operating properties. He is a member of the Real Estate & Land Use Section of the Oregon State Bar and a contributing author to the Oregon Real Estate Deskbook. He received his law degree in 1995 from the University of Oregon School of Law and graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Business Management in 1988. He will continue to serve as the company’s General Counsel.

Mehrwein will be primarily responsible for management of the branch offices and spearheading recruiting and retention of top agents. Licensed since 1982 in California and 1990 in Oregon, he has worked for RE/MAX Equity Group since 1998. He is a longstanding member and past President of the Oregon Association of Realtors, a past President and Realtor of the Year of the Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors, and 2012 Oregon Realtor of the Year. He has also served on the Regional Multiple Listing Service Board of Directors.

Thiel began her real estate career in 1993 at the RE/MAX equity group Lake Oswego office. She is a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame and has earned numerous productivity awards including RE/MAX equity group’s Top 10% and the RE/MAX 100% Club. Thiel has been leading an accountability group of other agents at the Lake Oswego office and will now be bringing her leadership skills to the entire office.
