The Salem Association of Realtors recently selected George Grabenhorst from our Salem Business Center office as their 2012 Realtor of the Year.

George just completed serving as President of the Salem Association of Realtors for 2011.  He volunteers in the community coaching track and football, as well as sits on the Board for the Marion County Planning Commission.

Thank You George for all of your contributions to the real estate community.

Congratulations to Terry Wollam, Jr. of the RE/MAX equity group Vancouver Mall office on being selected as the REALTOR® of the Year by the Clark County Association of Realtors.

This is the highest tribute that the Clark County Association of REALTORS® (CCAR) can bestow on an individual. This person displays what’s referred to as “REALTOR® Spirit” – a faithfulness to the principles of the REALTOR® organization, professionalism and the Code of Ethics. They are an active professional member and are dedicated to the betterment of the membership as a whole.  They provide outstanding service and contributions to our association and the real estate profession.

Terry is the immediate Past President of CCAR and was named one of REALTOR® magazine’s “30 under 30″ in 2005. He has been selling real estate since 1998 and was named Rookie of the Year in 1998.  He is also a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame, the exclusive group of top producers at RE/MAX who have achieved more than $1 million in gross commission earnings during their career with RE/MAX.

Congratulations to RE/MAX equity group Sunnyside branch manager Larry Sievers on being selected as the Managing Broker of the Year by the Portland Metropolitan Association of REALTORS’ Million Dollar Club!

Larry has been a managing broker for more than 32 years, the last 13 with RE/MAX equity group. His office has 65 brokers and closed more than $160 million last year. Part of that success is because Larry is a great broker, trainer, and leader.

His REALTOR involvement has been with PMAR, the Oregon Association of REALTORS, and the National Association of REALTORS. He has been both a Local and a State Director and served on the Grievance and Professional Standards committees and chaired the Grievance committee. He was also the President of the Oregon State CRB (Certified Residential Broker) chapter. He holds the GRI, CRS, CRB, and FACS designations.

Larry was first licensed as a Realtor in 1976 at J.S. Pounder, came to Stan Wiley in 1978 as a Manager. In 1981, he opened his own brokerage, The Real Estate Marketplace, which merged with RE/MAX equity group in 1998. In addition to managing at RE/MAX equity group, Larry has developed a Leadership Training Program for the company and been very involved with community activities, particularly Komen Race for the Cure and Northwest Medical Teams.

Larry grew up in Salem, Oregon and went to South Salem High School, where he became the State High School Bowling Champion. That achievement earned him a scholarship to Oregon State University. He graduated in 1969 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and married his Gayle, his high school and college sweetheart, a few days later. They have been married for nearly 42 years and the joy of their lives are their two sons and grandchildren.

Larry received his master’s degree from Lewis and Clark in 1972 and taught English at David Douglas for seven years and also served in the National Guard for six years.

The Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors® (PMAR) named Wilma Caplan and Doris Cherachanko, both from RE/MAX Equity Group’s West Hills office, their 2011 Realtors® of the Year at their February 14th membership event. The PMAR Realtor® of the Year award is the highest honor bestowed by PMAR, and recognizes service to the Realtor® association, community involvement, and business accomplishments over the recipients’ careers.

Wilma Caplan was licensed in 1972 and is well known throughout the real estate industry as the co-founder of Cronin and Caplan, which later became Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group. Now with RE/MAX Equity Group, Wilma continues her long history of involvement with PMAR with her current volunteer activities as Local Director and State Director. Wilma has served as the 1992 Portland Board of Realtors® (PBR) President, chaired the Risk Management Committee, the Governmental Affairs Committee, as well as numerous task forces. She received the PMAR Million Dollar Club Broker of the Year award in 1998 and is a past recipient of the PBR Realtor® of the Year Award. In addition to her work with PMAR, Wilma has also served as a Regional Multiple Listing Services Director and an Oregon Real Estate Forms Company Manager. She has served on the Board of Directors for Boys and Girls Club, Emanuel Hospital and Children’s Hospital, and Legacy Health Systems.

Doris Cherachanko was licensed in 1972 and is a broker with RE/MAX Equity Group. She currently serves as a PMAR Local Director and State Director. Her industry accomplishments are numerous and include serving as Chairman of the PMAR PAC Trustees, and much more. In 2005, Doris received PMAR’s Distinguished Service Award for her committed volunteer efforts. She was named the 1988 WCAR Realtor® of the Year and is a life member of the PMAR Million Dollar Club.

Marilyn Shotts Salem Oregon Realtor and Oregon CRS of the YearCongratulations to Marilyn Shotts, a broker with RE/MAX equity group’s Salem Business Center office in Salem, on being named the 2009 Oregon CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) of the Year.

This award recognizes a CRS member who has provided outstanding service to the chapter and the real estate industry. Marilyn has served as the 2006-2009 Oregon CRS Capitol District District Vice President and as the President of Women’s Business Referral Club. Marilyn also holds the CDPE (Certified Distressed Property Expert) designation.

Peggy LeGrande RE/MAX equity group Salem Realtor of the YearThe Salem Association of Realtors recently chose Peggy LeGrande, of RE/MAX equity group’s Salem Business Center office, as their 2009 REALTOR of the Year.

LeGrande was selected for her high level of integrity and attentiveness to her real estate clients as well as being a giving and supportive person who brings a smile to the face and radiates a special energy for all to share in. In receiving her award LeGrande was described as “hard-working, and industrious, she knows how to do what needs to be done to achieve goals and get to the other side of hardships. She is a problem-solver and looks for the highest and best results for all concerned in every situation.”

LeGrande holds the Certified Residential Specialist and Graduate, Realtor Institute designations and has been a licensed Realtor for more than 27 years.
